Bordi Beach, Dahanu Outing

Fun journey with friends

After recovering from the dengue and malaria illness(me and my younger brother both after having those horrible days in the hospital)It was a good idea to have a good time with friends and what can be better than a picnic. As planned in our co-operative society, this time it was a huge response from the residence of our people encouraging and finally leading to the success of this picnic which was organized for the people of all ages to come join us in this moment. We planned this picnic somewhere in the November of 2013 (a little late to write about that now, but better late than never). All planned within a week and on Saturday 7o'clock in morning we started our journey in the name of our Lord Ganesh.

Mahadevi Mahalakshmi Temple, Dahanu

Normally its approx. 4 hour route iuf you follow the GOOGLE MAPS(trust me this apps are really handy) but with traffic it took more one hour besides our halts for having breakfast and and visiting the temples and all.Dont worry about the hours that take place when you are on a journey because if you are with your friends you wont know how time passes plus its an add on when you are exploring a new place with them.
At about 10.00am after everyone started to get the urges of having some food we halted and nearby was the temple of 'Mahadevi Mahalaxmi, Dahanu' which is very popularand we all when to see and seek blessing of the Goddess. Morning time, lots of rush at the temple, many tourist one thing was symbolic that most of them were carrying Lotus flowers as an offering for the Goddess. My mobile SIM card service displayed the message "Welcome To Gujarat"(as everytime whenever we travel towards the border of Maharashtra). After seeking the blessing and feeling fresh we went to nearby street hotel to have some breakfast. And to take some group photos ;)

After nearly of an hour spent near the temple we called it for heading to our next destination which was Bordi beach. More 3 hours spend in journey(our bus driver lost the route) singing till our throat got soar later on and just joking around we managed to reach the beach. The area and the surroundings of the beach and people that live around are Gujaratis who are fishermen with
slightly different language which feels like a mixture of gujarati and koli[(Maharashtrian fishermen) although I maybe wrong, not an expert in languages].

The beach on a low tide when we reach around 01:00 pm. Not expecting it to be but according
Bordi Beach during low tide
Gola time
to me was one of the driest beach when it comes to low tide as the water was really faraway from the shore. so some of us started playing cricket and others just wanted to walk on the dry landscape just to see how far is the water. And some just were interested in the expensive camel rides.
Walking on dry beach

Mudskipper

The Bordi Beach is somewhat clean and has soft black sand. No watersports I guess because of the drying low tide but also not very crowded which can result in being very peaceful. As we move forward to checkout how far is the water there were a few fisher women who were catching some Mudskippers and putting them in bottle. Its one of marine creatures they use in their cuisine. One of my friend holds that mudskipper in hand only to realize that it would skip and fall being so slimy and slippery skinned creatures.
Asking the people around the beach we came to know that the high tide time is around 03:00 pm so we all decided to go and have our lunch in the nearby hotel which looked like a resort at around 02:30 pm. The name of the hotel was Chikoo land restaurant(funny).were they had big hall with shed and a garden nearby. Gujarati cuisine is interesting as when you expect some things to be spicy when they are absolutely not(not even the "dal") but was filling.

After a filling lunch we went to the beach and to our surprise it was high tide and much filled with water. And everyone know how much of an amazing and joyful the moments can be playing in the sea. All the mud throwing on each other, playing catch in water trying to swim etc. The adults also enjoyed their time on the beach.
Picnic packup
And the fun part when you have no room to change clothes so all the guys(only) going into the bus and changing clothes as fast as we could. Around at 07.00 pm we all had our tea time at a nearby Dhaba(cafĂ©) and ended with our beautiful picnic, getting into our buses and just having fun for sometime and then most of them going to sleep from a long day tiredness and have a relaxing Sunday.
                                 Thank you
